With the October 4 announcement of Pixel and Pixel XL the era of the Nexus brand came to and end. While the Pixel phones have excellent hardware and promise a great performance but they seem to lag behind the Nexus line in terms of price to performance ratio. At the base price of $650 it has already shattered the Nexus tradition of killer price to performance ratio angering many Nexus fans.

Let us see how this new strategy works out for Google but for now it seems the Nexus philosophy is truly being honored by the Chinese brand OnePlus. Nexus you will be missed.

Google Plus: 2 weeks, 10M plus users. WOW

Google Plus grew to more than 10 million users in just two weeks, the company announced Thursday. These stats were shared by Larry Page on Google+ as well.

"However, the growth on Google+ has been great--and I’m excited to release some new metrics for you today. Over 10M people have joined Google+. Great achievement for the team", said Page's Google+ post.
Google also took +1 buttons to search results and advertisements across the web. “Our +1 button is already all over the web,” Page said, “It’s being served 2.3 billion times a day.”

Android Market revamped

Google has announced a refreshing update to the Android Market , bringing some interesting changes, including books and movie rentals to users in the United States.  The update is available for devices running Android 2.2 or higher and will bring the ability to purchase books via your Android Market account, as well as rent movies through the Videos app starting at $1.99.  Google says they plan to expand this outside the US in the future.

Google+ invites closed, but you can still find one?

Google+ beta launch was so successful that the invite program was shut off. Late on Wednesday night a senior vice president of Social for Google, posted on the Google+ network that the company has been overwhelmed with interest and had to stop taking new users.

"We've shut down invite mechanism for the night, Insane demand. We need to do this carefully, and in a controlled way. Thank you all for your interest!" Gundotra, Google's head of social media posted on Google+.

Google+: Google's latest take on Facebook

Google has announced its most ambitious Facebook alternative to date. The service was launched to a limited number of users today in what Google is calling a "field trial".


Google+ allows individuals to share photos, messages and comments but also integrates the company’s maps and images into the service. In an effort to create a viable alternative to Facebook, Google+ is built around a platform dubbed Circles

HP TouchPad rumoured To Get 7-Inch model

In just a few days, HP’s 9.7 inch TouchPad units will be available on retail shelves across the U.S. It look like HP is planning to give its tablet users more options for mobility, according to a report from Taiwan Economic News.
